Planters are an excellent addition to any landscape or gardening project. You can build your own planters from one or more of these planter plans. Planters can be used to delineate space, highlight windows and provide an area for planting in even the most smallest environment.
Always read the planter plans carefully and make sure that there is enough information provided for you to be able to complete the project - before you invest in materials. Some of the plans are excellent, giving a great deal of instruction in text, pictures and drawings while other plans are only drawings and still others are only sketches.
Remember that you can change the species of wood used in any one of these planter plans. Woods such as redwood and cedar are rot resistance and hence are a good choice when making planters. You can also consider building your planter so that you can slip a plastic planter inside the wood frame work. The planter plans you choose should allow you some flexibility in dimensions.
As well, some of the free planter plans, require a woodworking shop that is outfitted with a good selection of stationary power tools such as a table saw, jointer and thickness planer.
These planter plans are for the novice to expert woodworker.
