Some of the clock plans shown below are for the housing only. The clock movement is usually purchased in kit or completed form and mounted in the housing you have made. Some of the clock plans include the instructions for building the clock mechanism.
It takes a lot of care and patience to construct a clock mechanism. If you have not made a clock mechanism previously I suggest you start with a clock movement kit.
Always read the clock plans carefully and make sure that there is enough information provided for you to be able to complete the project - before you invest in materials. Some of the plans are excellent, giving a great deal of instruction in text, pictures and drawings while other plans are only drawings and still others are only sketches. Some of these clock plans require a reasonably well equiped woodworking shop.
